Three Days Grace

Three Days Grace rocking The BradyTheater!

“TULSA OKLAHOMA!!” screamed Three Days Grace fill in singer Matt Walst as the opening notes of their newest hit “Chalk Outline” rang through the speakers of the Brady Theater. Coming out like a bull in a china shop, Three Days Grace hit the stage giving the crowd EXACTLY what they have come to expect from such a well respected band and that was an energetic performance filled with hit after hit after hit! Up next was a song from their Self Titled album “Just Like You”, “You thought you were there to guide me, you were only in my way, you’re wrong if you think that I’ll be JUST LIKE YOU!” sang the crowd along with Matt Walst as he paced back and forth covering every inch of the stage. I believe there is something to be said here about singer Matt Walst, This guy had VERY large shoes to fill when stepping in for former Three Days Grace lead singer Adam Gontier and he performed every song as if they were his very own, he owned the crowd and the stage for the hour and a half performance! Next was one of the bands biggest hits “Pain”, crowd sing alongs and an awesome vocal performance made this one a highlight of the set! “The High Road” was next, Three Days Grace latest hit collaboration from their latest album “Transit of Venus”, great light show and overall amazing performance from the band made this one very memorable. A few songs later came the lead single from previous album “Life Starts Now”- “Break”, and had the crowd in a frenzy while drummer Neil Sanderson played the very iconic intro leading into a rush of guitar and bass riffs! “Hey Oklahoma, are you ready for “The Good Life!?” screamed Matt Walst, as lead guitarist Barry Stock lead this one while the crowd jumped and sang along to this riff heavy track! A few songs later came my favorite song from “Life Starts Now”, “World So Cold”.  This cry for help was even more emotional in a live setting and easily one of the crowds favorite songs of the night as Matt Walst really showed off his vocal talent here. I can still hear the crowd singing this next one, “I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU, WHY DO I LOVE YOU!!” probably one of Three Days Grace biggest songs and most recognized hit, this was sure to be a favorite of the night and it did not disappoint! Next up was one of my favorite parts of the show because it was unique, I mean how many bands do you see bringing their tour manager on stage to sing a song with them?! “The Hammer” came on stage and performed an awesome version of Limp Bizkit’s hit track “Break Stuff”.The whole band completely KILLED IT here and had the mosh pit going crazy! Next, all I remember was that famous bass line kicking off my favorite song of the night, “Animal I Have Become”, there is only one song of the night that had the crowd going as crazy as they did during this song but we will get to that later, “Animal I Have Become” has always been and will always be a huge live track for Three Days Grace and the crowd in Tulsa Oklahoma proved just that with the mosh pit, singing along and going crazy just as expected! “THREE DAYS GRACE, THREE DAYS GRACE, THREE DAYS GRACE” chanted the crowd as the band left the stage leaving the crowd begging for more, lights came back up and the band led us into their uplifting hit “Never Too Late”, Matt Walst completely owned this song as he cried out in the chorus “even if I say it’ll be alright, and still I hear you say you want to end your life” making the crowd really feel the lyrics he was singing. Then the crowd demanded “Riot” and the band listened, the whole Brady Theater went CRAZY as the band ended the night  perfectly with their biggest live hit!

Three Days Grace proved that even with the recent hardship they went through with losing lead singer Adam Gontier that they will stand the test of time and remain one of the greatest rock bands to ever do it! Matt Walst should be the permanent replacement for Adam Gontier, he completely killed it and owned the stage. GO SEE THIS SHOW NOW!!!
