Slayer fans young and old braved the cold 17 degree temperature, lining up early outside the Chevy Bricktown Events Center for a night of headbanging metal music. The crowd was rowdy, lots of beer was consumed and spectacular mosh pits broke out during the two killer opening sets by Exodus and Suicidal Tendencies. The crowd was thoroughly warmed up and buzzing with excitement as the white curtain fell to cover the stage in preparation for Slayer’s grand entrance. AC/DC’s Thunderstruck played over the sound system as the lights went out and Slayer logos were projected against the curtain. The fans threw their devil horns up in the air as the curtain fell and Slayer assaulted the crowd with a deafening “World Painted Blood”. The light show for this production was top notch with an arena sized Slayer backdrop and huge inverted crossed that hung by cabled behind the band. Slayer pummeled the crowd with a killer 19 song set that included the favorites “War Ensemble”, “Dead Skin Mask” & “Raining Blood”. This was a headbanger’s dream, a night of metal that took fans “South Of Heaven” where “Hell Awaits”.
