Gary Allan – Hard Rock Casino

gary allan concert review

So we went to the Gary Allan show last week at the Joint inside the Hard Rock.  I had no idea what to expect as I had never seen him before but by the end of the night I was a true fan.  After a little bit of a delay (Gary was supposed to be on at 8 but came on at about 8:20) the lights suddenly went out and all you could hear was thunder.  Fog covered the stage to where you couldn’t see anything, the thunder stopped and Gary Allan appeared on top of the stairs at the back of the stage.  He opened up his set with a new song titled “Tough Goodbye” which provided time for him to interact with the fans and also show off his killer vocal abilities.  A couple songs later he played one of his hits “Man to Man” which had the crowd on their feet and in a roar as a sing a long broke out!  Next up was “Her Man” which featured a crowd sing a long like I had never seen before.  You could barely hear Gary through the crowd singing at the top of their lungs.  He ran through hit after hit, interacting with the crowd and just being a true entertainer.  My personal favorite song of the night was his latest hit “Every Storm (Runs Out Of Rain)”, this song has such a great message and translates well live!  “Watching Airplanes” was the last song he played before coming out for his encore.  His encore included hits such as “Drinking Dark Whiskey” and crowd favorite “Best I Ever Had”.  I love the stripped down feel to this song.  Such a perfect way to end a great night and performance!  The crowd loved every minute of Gary’s performance and gave him a roaring applause.
Gary Allan has had a huge career and by the looks of it he is here to stay.  His live show is one not to be missed as he is a great entertainer.  Go see him when he hits your town!
