THE AMERICAN DREAM TOUR

Bring Me The Horizon brought The American Dream tour to Oklahoma City for a sold out show at the Diamond Ballroom.  That’s right, SOLD OUT!  The place was packed, the bands were kicking ass and the crowd was insane.  It took four security guards to tackle a guy to the ground who decided to put up a fight while being escorted out and security was pulling people over the barricade so they could escape the tight confines and heat of the crowd.  The tour featured the stellar support acts Issues, Let Live, and the band who is breaking BIG right now, Of Mice & Men, who just had their new album debut at #4 on the Billboard album charts.  After killer performances by the support acts the moment we had all been waiting for had finally arrived.  The lights dimmed and the screams erupted as Bring Me The Horizon took the stage and opened the show with “Can You Feel My Heart” from the new album “Sempiternal”.  Confetti shot out of cannons on both sides of the stage covering the fans and crowd surfers and devil horns were high in the air.  “I wanna high five every single person in this crowd” said vocalist Oli Sykes.  “All you gotta do is crowd surf over this barricade and give me a high five”.  Bring Me The Horizon played a killer 11 song set that consisted mostly of new songs from what is being called the band’s best album yet, “Sempiternal”.  Sykes told the crowd “we wanna play a song for you guys we don’t normally play on one condition.  You have to lose your shit!  Everyone in this room has to go fucking mental!”.  The crowd did exactly that as BMTH played the older song “Chelsea Smile” from the album “Suicide Season”.  The band ended the night with encore “Sleepwalking” as more confetti rained down on the crowd and columns of smoke shot into the air.  As the people cleared out of the venue the floor was wet and the place felt like a sauna from all the body heat.  The confetti that covered the floor and the smiles on everyone’s face was a reminder of the awesome party that had just taken place.  The American Dream tour is one hell of a show!  Don’t miss it!   photos & review by Michael Ervin
